I recently took part in a video shoot for bassist-singer, Anthony Caceres. We recorded a number of songs, but I'm going to share Lush Life with you. The song was written by Billy Strayhorn at the young age of 16 and, along with Take the "A" Train, it became his signature song. Though it's hard not to compare with the famous Johnny Hartman and John Coltrane version, I think Anthony shines on this one.
This year I joined the Kingwood Humble Music Teachers Association.
A new CD of hymns and spirituals coming soon.
I am pleased to announce that I will be the featured musician at this year's F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference!
